PUT Tourism Fair, one of the most important tourism congresses in Croatia, has been bringing together workers from travel agencies, hotels, tourist service providers, tourist board systems, and travel journalists in a different Croatian destination every year for the past 19 years.
In addition to the business part of the fair, the basic goal of which is to present products and news in tourist offerings, the programme also includes activities involving getting to know the host destination and what it has to offer, as well as professional debates, presentations, and socialising with participants. All this has made the PUT fair both a respected business event and a fascinating, valuable study trip. This is best witnessed by the fact that last representatives of 96 tourism businesses from Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary, Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as 10 domestic and international media outlets, took part in last year’s fair.
The fair also includes the official yearly Simply the Best awards ceremony. This award is given in collaboration between the Croatian Association of Travel Agents and specialised tourist magazine Way to Croatia.
Over the past 19 years, the following tourist destinations have been hosts and co-organisers: Varaždin, Sisak, Opatija, Ogulin, Bjelolasica, Petrčane, Vodice, Tuheljske toplice, Brela, Šibenik, Toplice Sveti Martin, Mali Lošinj, Zagreb, Malinska, Poreč, Rabac, Trakošćan, Marija Bistrica, and Split.
